A less risky form of Abdominoplasty

A less complex procedure is called a “mini tummy tuck,” or partial abdominoplasty. This procedure is less expensive and has less risks because the Mini Tummy Tuck is the less invasive form of Abdominoplasty, which is a plastic surgery procedure performed usually to tighten abs and abdomen. Abdominoplasty normally includes removing excess skin or tissues from the abdomen and is a treatment which is growing in popularity because of immediate results.

What does normal Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck do?

It eliminates the excess skin and fat from the lower part of the abdomen, that is, the section below the navel. For removal of persistent rolls of fat showing around waist, it is the most effective surgical procedure. At the same time, it may also help to solve preexisting problems, such as hernias or eventrations.

Who should go for Mini Tummy Tuck?

The mini tummy tuck, or partial abdominoplasty, is often an excellent option for people who have a small amount of abdominal skin to be removed and do not have a significantly protruding abdominal muscle wall. Individuals whose abdominal area is beginning to sag due to aging or who have slim abdomens that they wish to sculpted into a more desirable shape may find that a mini tummy tuck is ideal for them.

Why Mini Tummy Tuck is called Scarless Tummy Tuck?

Mini tummy tuck surgery may be performed under general anesthesia, but is usually completed with a local anesthetic and mild sedation. The length of the incision involved in a mini tummy tuck will depend on the amount of skin to be removed, but will generally be smaller than the incision required by a traditional tummy tuck. This is why mini tummy tuck surgery is also sometimes known as a “Scarless tummy tuck.”

Procedural Difference

Unlike a traditional tummy tuck, the surgeon usually does not have to reposition the navel during mini abdominoplasty. Just as mini tummy tuck surgery involves a smaller incision than its traditional counterpart, it also requires that a smaller section of the abdominal wall be exposed; usually, the treatment area extends from the point of incision to the navel. After excess fat has been removed and the abdominal muscles have been tightened, the surgeon will stretch the skin downward, cutting away any excess tissue and stitching the remaining skin into place. The surgeon may place a temporary drainage tube in the incision site.

// ]]>

Mini Tummy Tuck Recovery

The patient is usually released from the hospital within a few hours of mini tummy tuck surgery. The recovery time is about the same as that for liposuction. Most patients experience some postoperative pain, but it can be controlled with over-the-counter medication. Patients are usually able to return to work within a few days of getting a mini abdominoplasty but should refrain from strenuous activities for a few weeks.

Price for undergoing the procedure

The cost of Tummy Tuck surgeries varies according to the amount of excess fat that needs to be removed and criticality of the condition of the patient’s body. For example an aged person might find himself paying more for a Tummy Tuck surgery, because more care needs to be taken by the surgeon to avoid any post surgical problems. In the US Tummy Tuck prices could range from $4000 to $20000.

Many women struggle to keep a flat stomach or find losing those last few pounds to slip into a stylish pair of jeans insurmountable. NYDJ Tummy Tuck jeans offer an elegant and affordable solution.

The New Rave

Tummy tuck jeans solve problems that women of all body types face, flattening the stomach and elevating the butt through a design originally conceived by NYDJ. Short for Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, NYDJ was formed by a woman who was aggravated with that lines of jeans weren’t being made for the average woman’s body type. She designed the Tummy Tuck jeans with a “criss-cross” pattern in the front that tightens the tummy and with elasticity in the rear that not only provides comfort but prevents the butt from sagging. She passed the design on to her father who already owned a clothing business and then launched her own company. Since then, NYDJ Tummy Tuck jeans have been met with rave reviews and great commercial success.

No Compromises

They are designer jeans except you don’t having to worry about sucking in your stomach and hopping around on the floor. They slip on fitting your form perfectly with the same comfort as a pair of sweat pants. The Tummy Tuck jeans act like a girdle or corset, shaping your stomach, waist, hips and sides giving you the luscious curves but without the discomfort. With these jeans, you will fit into one or two sizes smaller and feel free and confident.

Easy to Reach Easy to Buy

Diane Sawyer, Rachel Ray and Elizabeth Hasselbeck and many other celebrities have praised NYDJ Tummy Tuck jeans for the way it made them look and feel. You can experience first hand what they’re talking about at a reasonable price. NYDJ Tummy Tuck jeans all run under $90. Tummy Tuck jeans are available in a variety of styles, colors and washes that can wear without worrying about a flat butt or revealed love handles. Even if you are fit, Tummy Tuck jeans can improve your form and give you incredible comfort.

Tummy Tuck Prices Vary

The cost of a tummy tuck can vary from country to country and surgeon to surgeon. Like with many cosmetic surgery procedures, the cost of a tummy tuck also depends on the age of the patient, the weight, as well as state of their health. In the United States, the cost of a tummy tuck procedure can cost anywhere from $4,000 to $20,000. On average, a prototypical tummy tuck cosmetic surgery will cost a patient $5,000.

// ]]>

There’s Always More

Such costs like facility fees, anesthesia, medications, and pre-operative/post-operative care must also be taken into consideration for a patient in considering the overall price for a tummy tuck procedure. The cost of a tummy tuck also varies on the demand of the surgery at the present time, what is required from start to finish to complete the procedure, as well as time and effort required to perform the surgery.

Patients Have Options

When finding the price for a tummy tuck, a patient must also consider the type of procedure they are having performed. For example, a traditional tummy tuck compared to a mini tummy tuck will cost more money. Usually, a tummy tuck procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure meaning that an overnight stay in a hospital is not required, thus saving the patient time and money in not paying hospital fees. Also, having to undergo multiple tummy tucks or abdominoplasty will increase the price of the cosmetic surgery as well.

Since there is no set price for a “typical” tummy tuck procedure, the price is determined by the patient themselves. The patient chooses how much of the procedure they want done, the surgeon, the region, and type of procedure performed. Differences in these options result in differences in pricing options for a tummy tuck procedure.

Additional Costs of Tummy Tucks

The cost of a tummy tuck can also come with hidden costs that the patient might not be aware of. For example, patients might also be charged with increased insurance costs and insurance premiums following the cosmetic procedure. A tummy tuck or Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that is not typically covered in a normal insurance plan unless the patient has abdominal muscle spreading like a hernia .

With the costs of tummy tuck procedures varying from patient to patient, a person should look to spend around $5,000 to get the abdomen they desire.

Skin Care is Important

As someone who suffers from a cousin to the skin disease Psoriasis called Pityriasis rubra pilaris, skin care products are something of a hobby for me. Much in the same way I figure wheelchairs are a hobby to people who are crippled. Anyways, the point that I’m trying laboriously to make, like a deaf mute man trying to record his first hit single is that skin care is really important to my day to day living. I mean, I guess I could just walk around feeling like my skin had said hello to this idea of flexibility, but hadn’t ever gotten to first base with it. If that seems like a really lame way to go through life, then I agree with you.

Don’t Get Burned

But, due to the nature of PRP, I can’t just go out and buy any old skin lotion, either. Most of them have this nasty thing call perfume in them, and with cracked and dry skin, that stuff is like acid burning on my flesh. Only, unlike normal acid, where there’s a handy label saying something to the effect of, “Do not pour this on your arm. If you do pour this on your arm, you’re an idiot that deserves what happens.” No, I don’t get that. I get something more along the lines of, “Vaseline Intensive care great on dry skin.”

Comfort Comes at a Price

The only way I’ve ever found to avoid something like the acid illustration is to shop in the organic skin care aisle. On that aisle, you’ll find things that, admittedly, sound more like food items than skin care products, but they will actually work, and do so without irritating your skin, which to people like me is a big plus. But, I feel I should warn you that these products won’t always be the cheapest things of the market, due to the extra work involved with harvesting the ingredients. The benefits are worth the price, however.

A Few Suggestions

Things you should look for in organic skin care products are, Jojoba, Safflower oil, Rose hip seed oil, Shea butter, Beeswax, Witch-hazel, Aloe vera, Tea tree oil, and chamomile. The combinations of these can be used to treat just about any problem and, in many cases, are better than the more common big name brand lotions.

And even though they aren’t as popular as the major name skin care products, the organic products are still carried by most supermarket chains and, while generally more expensive, they are still an affordable alternative.

As people become more and more weight conscious, they are willing consider drastic solutions to stay thin including gastric surgery. However, gastric bypass surgery, the type of gastric surgery performed most often, is an extremely invasive procedure that should only be performed on someone whose weight is life threatening, not just a cosmetic concern.

Gastric Bypass Surgery Types

In the most common type of gastric bypass surgery, the surgeon makes a large cut in the abdomen, and separates a small section of the stomach with surgical staples. This small pouch of the stomach is then attached to middle of the small intestine. This procedure causes most of the stomach and the upper part of the intestine to be bypassed in the digestion process. As a result, patient cannot consume and as much food feeling full quicker, and less calories are absorbed by the small intestine. Most people who undergo gastric bypass surgery lose weight rapidly over the course of the first year after the surgery.

Surgery Risks

All types of gastric bypass surgery run a risk of infection. Also a leak can occur where the stomach is partitioned or where the intestine is connected. Leaks formed around surgical staples are particularly dangerous, because stomach acid can drip and damage other organs.

The most widespread problem patients experience is nutritional deficiency, due to the smaller absorption capacity of the intestine. The patient is able to process less vitamins and minerals. This occurs about 30 percent of the time. Even without problems, patients of gastric surgery must carefully regulate their diet and nutritional intake. Eating too much will induce vomiting or cause intense pain.

Pre-Surgery Requirements

In most cases for gastric bypass surgery to even be considered, the patient has to have been obese for over five years, is between 18 and 65 years old, does not have untreated depression, and does not have an alcohol problem. Usually, gastric bypass surgery is recommended for people who have a body mass index of 40 or above.

A Less Risky Route

The second most common type of gastric surgery, gastric banding surgery, is a less invasive procedure and doesn’t have as many risks as gastric bypass surgery. In this procedure, a small incision is made in the abdomen and a gastric band is placed over the stomach separating the upper part of it creating a small pouch that can hold only an ounce of food. Most gastric bands are adjustable and made of silicone. To adjust the band, you inject or remove saline solution into a plastic tube underneath your skin that connects to the band tightening it or relaxing it respectively.

Gastric banding surgery usually results in about a 40 percent loss in excess fat and doesn’t run the risk of nutritional deficiency that gastric bypass does. However, gastric bypass surgery is more effective with an 80 percent loss of excess weight on average. You should try other methods of weight loss before considering gastric surgery and be sure to assess the risks involved.

Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, is a fairly serious cosmetic procedure. Involving a long incision across the abdomen in the shape of a smile along with a second incision in the middle of the abdomen close to the belly button. Both regular anesthesia and local anesthesia can be used but there may be some discomfort when only using local anesthesia. The better the physician performing the procedure the better the results and recovery time will be. The entire surgery usually lasts about two to five hours. The main purpose of Abdominoplasty is to remove excess fat and tighten the skin around the abdominal due to being overweight or having children.

Starting Out

In order to make sure a patient is ready for this surgery they must meet with a board certified plastic surgeon and be considered a good candidate for the procedure. This will include the usual questions a doctor will ask: medical history, if the patient is currently on any medication, any allergies, also some extra parameters must be taken into account such as the amount of excess fat and skin that is to be removed. Choosing a surgeon is obviously important for this procedure like any other important procedure. A patient must choose someone they are comfortable with but it is also recommended to do some research on their previous work and their credentials.

Preparations and Precautions

It is important for the patient to inform their doctor of any and all medication or natural supplements they may be taking. Also the doctor may ask the patient to begin a regiment of certain supplements such as vitamin c leading up to the surgery. Of course along with this there will be a list of things the patient is allowed to eat as well as thing they should not eat before their surgery. It is also highly recommended that if the patient is a smoker they should quit the habit for the month before as well as the month after the surgery because this can cause the healing process to be delayed which could obviously have adverse affects such as scarring.

Think About It

There are over a hundred thousand tummy tucks performed each year and this number appears to still be rising as people are realizing the beneficial effects that the surgery brings with it. As with any surgery careful thought should be given to the cost and amount of recovery time required with the surgery. It may be a very helpful procedure for people with low self esteem but the patient must always remember to live within their means.
